April 18th, 2011

Childrens parties are usually superb memories to be captured. However, capturing the best pictures of these experiences can be difficult. Simply because they often include lighting that is not great, many people, and cluttered areas. There are a few photography tips an individual can employ to grab the perfect pictures at kids birthday parties.

One of the simplest photography tips is always to move the party outdoors, conditions permitting. The lighting style will likely be a lot better and you will have much more space to capture images. When there are many kids at the get together or if it’s a kid’s get together you may get some excellent pictures. In the event your digital camera permits you to take photos with a manual setting, try to use the digital camera with a lower ISO and a high shutter speed. This will permit you to freeze the actions inside a scene. Make an effort to get several photographs from unique perspectives.

With regard to indoor shooting, you can expect to in all likelihood want to attach your flash or a higher ISO. Here are some photography tips to prevent having your own photographs seem too whitened or washed out. In case your images are appearing too bright, you will have to take a step back a little to offer the flash unit more space. You might want to lower your ISO if you are not using an auto setting. If the photos are way too dark, consider getting nearer to the excitement. Nevertheless, in case your camera is able to utilize a greater ISO without worrying about flash, this will give you natural looking photos.

It is best to set the shutter speed as high as you can with a high ISO and keep your camera steadily. These types of tips can make for great photographs while blowing out the candles. If you need more illumination and don’t wish to use a flash unit, consider opening the window blinds or curtains and providing the room additional light.

There are many photography tips for indoors, but childrens parties are a real challenge. Make an effort to take as many pictures as you’re able to, and designate one individual as the photographer. That way you will be sure to seize those special situations without having to worry about cutting the cake.

Event Photography Money Making Ideas

March 14th, 2010

If you focus on event photography you can make quite a bit of money. It is a varied and widely sought after field of photography.

What to do

Cover only events where it is hard for people to take the pics themselves and where they will want to keep their memories frozen in film.

One idea is to go to kids sports events. Get permission from the coach to click pics for the parents watching and then start clicking away. If you turn up with a wopping big telephoto lens like the ones used for pro coverage of events, you will be taken seriously. Make sure you get all the children doing great action shots and then hand out flyers to all the parents watching with your web address. If you can grab the parents email address so you can email them the URL of you site then upload the pics to your web site that day and email everyone. If you have a simple shopping cart set up you can make money in a few hours as people pop in to see the pics and buy them for $20 or more a pop.

You can do a similar thing with weddings. Take all the regular pictures as part of the wedding coverage but then get your URL printed on the wedding invites and all the other wedding materials and also get an email list of all the wedding guests, offer the couple a nice 20% discount for doing this and then take lots of extra pics at the wedding of the guests doing all the things they do. Upload all the pics to your site and send the emails. You will then make a lot more money than the 20% discount it cost you because then 30 or 40 people will be also purchasing your pics at $20 or more a shot straight from your site. Also charging them more for higher resolution shots is a great bonus income as well.

The trick is to find a niche where you can excel by being the best photographer in the room, and offering an easy way for people to buy your photos.

Dog shows, fashion shows, horse shows, car shows, livestock competitions, rock shows, - the list goes on. Keep your eye out in the events section of your local paper to see what is happening. Always ask for permission to shoot pics and if you need to offer the people 10% of the income if feel you need to so you can get easy access.
